Oakland Traveling Treats

Only Oakland

This is definitely an 'only in Oakland' moment:
I'm riding the No. 18 to the Club One gym when right on 12th, near Broadway, sat an amazing vision.

A cupcake mobile truck (think ice cream truck) was selling cupcakes to an eager crowd. The cupcake truck was decorated white with colorful small circles. It looked inviting. And you know the line was like 10 deep.

So, of course, I jumped off the bus (it was sort of my stop), with my point and click camera at the ready. I just had to get proof of this.

As many of my pals know, I'm so down with the cupcake. Hell, my cat is named Cupcake. My last news story for Oakland Local was about an upcoming cupcake bake-off at Rock, Paper Scissors Collective. This thing is deep.

I could wax on about my love of cupcakes. But, that's not the point of this post. The point, dear reader, is that there is a mobile truck that drives around Oakland selling a wonderful variety of cupcakes. Too cool.
So why didn't I sample? Well, for one, I was on my way to the gym and it would have been very wrong to eat that much badness before an intense run. Also, I didn't have time to stand in line. But, recognize I will get to the bottom of the cupcake mystery. The people must have the truth.

  1. I'm pretty sure you have to follow her on twitter to find out where the truck is located http://twitter.com/cupkates. And thanks for promoting us and the cupcakes!
