Welcome to the New Walgreens! Same as the Old

For those downtown dwellers and workers that have not had a chance to see what the new Broadway Walgreens is all about, I did  a bit of scoping yesterday.

The new space takes up where the old Gap store left off on 14th and Broadway. You'd think Walgreens would have taken it's move from, literally, across the street to make some design changes and product upgrades.

Yeah, well, they skipped that. I don't know why they moved, but the new space is almost like the old space, except it has brighter lights.

Not only is the set up the same, the aisles still feel too small and store shelves are still a mess. When I was there, the lines to the two cashiers were long, and forget about finding any help if you have a problem.

I think this whole shift from one side of Broadway to another is not a good sign for this intersection. What's going to happen to the old site? From all appearances it looks like that spot will be vacant for the foreseeable future.

  1. Why didn't you call the owners of the old location and ask what's up?
